NEL Hydrogen is a Norwegian company based in Notodden and Porsgrunn, Norway. On June 9th 2011, the company name was changed from Hydrogen Technologies to NEL Hydrogen, as a consequence of change in ownership structure. Until 2006, the company was also known as Norsk Hydro Electrolysers (NHEL).
80 YEAR HISTORY
The company’s inception dates back to 1927, when Norsk Hydro started to use water electrolyser technology to provide hydrogen for its large scale ammonia production. Ever since, the technology has been further developed and optimised. Today, more than 80 years later, our electrolyser technology is recognised as being the worlds most robust, reliable and energy efficient.
